The Heart Behind my Work.
I thought the new year would be a good time to reflect and create three core values that are behind all of the work I create, the heart behind it all. Something to turn back to when beginning any new project, to align to.
So, here we go.
build r e l a t i o n s h i p s
provide space for
c o m m u n i t y to t h r i v e.
Whether it’s behind the chair on the salon floor, in a styled shoot at a new space, during Our Chicago Stories or just during every day life. A huge driving force behind many things I do is a deep craving for community, not just for me but for all of those around me.
live out j o y
create b e a u t y.
I’ve lived my whole life centered around joy, always filled the room with the loudest laugh & a whole lotta hugs. I want to constantly turn back to joy in my work, not falling into a lifeless routine, checking off a list. I want the environments I am in to be filled with joy and beauty, for everyone to thrive.
I want to create beauty. Side by side with that I want to remind those around me of the beauty in the everyday, in the mundane. I want to remind my clients that before they even sat in my chair they were beautiful, for a multitude of reasons beside the color and style I create.
give all the credit to t h e l o r d
constantly remind myself that we are called to l o v e others and lean into our g i f t s.
The Lord is my daily strength, my daily provider. He has given me a multitude of gifts and the more I lean into Him the more I can learn to use them well.
Over the past year I’ve focused more on listening to where He leads me and it’s led me to discover that I was created to do so much more than I formerly believed! If I daily lean into this, I can work towards providing an authentic space filled with love using my gifts, while also encouraging others to use theirs as well.
