A Weekend in Michigan.

A Weekend in Michigan.

In mid-August three of my best friends and I drove to Benton Harbor, Michigan to spend a weekend away from the loud bustling city. We passed through a sign on the drive there that mentioned "Chikaming Township," and #chillinginchikaming was created.

The weekend was filled with a tiny home, delicious food, lots of wineries, life talks and so many laughs. One of those weekends where you left feeling so refreshed that you never wanted it to end. These three ladies are some of the most amazing women I know, there hearts are huge, their laughs are loud, and their stories are unique. We are all from different states, and somehow our time in Chicago overlapped and Missio Dei brought us together.

I couldn't help but share some photos of the weekend on the blog:

We started our Sunday morning with some lakeside worship.

The tiny home we stayed was at Eden Springs Campground- it was a little gem. It's such a treat to have a weekend of simplicity away from the city, and this tiny home was just the spot we needed.

Our Winery tour with Fruitful Vines took us to four different wineries: 12 Corners, Vineyard 2121, Karma Vista and Contessa.

I want a life that sizzles and pops and makes me laugh out loud... I want to eat cold tangerines and sing out loud in the car with the windows open and wear pink shoes and stay up all night laughing and paint my walls the exact color of the sky right now. I want to sleep hard on clean white sheets and throw parties and eat ripe tomatoes and read books so good they make me jump up and down, and I want my everyday to make God belly laugh, glad that he gave life to someone who loves the gift.
